Smith, Darlene Lois Wilson passed away on August 3, 2022. She was born in Grand Prairie, Alberta on December 10, 1961 to parents Harold and June Wilson. She attended school in Blum, Texas. Early in life, Darlene found a true love in cooking for others. She owned several restaurants where customers became friends and family became employees. Her most recent endeavor with her husband and children, Beach Corner Restaurant in Parkland County, served up home-style food to loyal customers who followed Darlene’s passion for cooking for decades. Darlene was a sincere, generous person who enjoyed spending time with her family. She often hosted many family members from Texas and Oklahoma, sharing with them her favorite destinations including Jasper and Banff. Ever devoted to her husband and her children, Darlene was known for her bright smile, cheerful laugh, and great sense of humor. She was the perfect blend of Texas hospitality and Canadian kindness. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Brian; son Bobby Glenn and his children Garrett and Brady; her son Bradly and wife Niki; grandchildren Dylan and Olivia Glenn; step-children/grandchildren Breanne, James, Ryan, and Jadzia Smith; and sisters Elaine McDonald, Laura Smith, and Gloria Wilson as well as numerous nieces and nephews in both Canada and the United States. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents Harold and June Wilson, brothers Allan and Alvin Wilson, sister Delores Martindale, and son Billy Glenn.
A Graveside Service will take place Friday, August 19,2022 – 2:00PM at Pioneer Cemetery in Spruce Grove, Alberta. Following the Graveside the family would like to invite you for a time of fellowship and refreshments at Brightbank Hall, Range Road 21 Hwy 627.
