Diane O’Doherty (née Chapman), born November 26, 1942, passed away on August 22, 2026 — just nine days after the death of her beloved husband, Ted. Only days earlier, they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary, closing a lifetime of devotion side by side.
Diane was a woman of forthright charm, known for her feisty honesty and her beautifully uncompromising way of moving through the world. She never softened her opinions or pretended to be anything other than herself — and that authenticity made her unforgettable. Beneath her tough exterior lived deep loyalty, humour, and love, offered in her own unmistakable way.
She will be remembered for her quick remarks, eye rolling humour, stubborn streak, and the quiet acts of care she gave without ever asking for recognition.
Diane leaves behind two children, Ian (Chantel) and Brenda (David); five grandchildren — Shawna, Marlee, Ryann, Angela, and Christine — and eleven great-grandchildren. Her strength, stories, and unapologetic presence will live on in their hearts and in the generations shaped by her love.
