Don and Donna were best friends, married for 46 years. They met as teenagers in Tisdale, SK and moved to Fort McMurray, AB for work. From Fort McMurray, Don's career with the AB government brought them to St. Paul, AB, Innisfail, AB and finally Stony Plain, AB where they have resided for the last 30 years.
They were loving and supportive parents, grandparents, siblings and friends. They were often seen in the stands at their grandchildren's sporting events and other activities. Whatever the grandchildren needed they were quick to offer a helping hand - sports equipment, fundraising, a hug and always a post game Gatorade from Grandpa.
They were both devoted community leaders and supporters of many local boards and charities including Kidsport Parkland and Tri Community Adult Learning & Literacy Association. In their spare time and retirement they enjoyed traveling in their RV, touring many destinations across Canada and the US.
Don and Donna will forever be loved by their daughters Tracy (Cal) & Lindsay (Jeremy); their grandchildren: Blake, Emerson, Reese, Connor and Mason; Don’s mother Margaret. They are also survived by Don’s brothers Ken (Brenda) & Terry; his sisters Kathy & Karen; Donna’s brothers Warren (Cherie) & Terry (Eva); her sisters Ginger (Ben) & Marlene (Bill) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Don and Donna were predeceased by Donna’s parents Helen & Percy; Don’s father Arthur, brother in law Darrell and Donna’s brother Allan.
A Memorial Service for Don & Donna will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at the Stony Plain Heritage Pavilion 5100 – 41 Avenue, Stony Plain, AB.
In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made in Don & Donna’s honor to either Kidsport Parkland, the Tri Community Adult Learning & Literacy Association and the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
