Gerald Leverne Steinley

1940 – 2026

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gerry Steinley announces he passed away surrounded by his loved ones in Stony Plain, Alberta at the age of 85 years old.

Gerry is lovingly remembered by his wife Fran; his children Holly (Warren) of Sherwood Park and Randy (Cindy) of Calgary; his stepchildren Bill (Emma) of St. Albert, Rhonda (Darren) of Parkland County and Bernie of Edmonton. He was a proud grandfather to Erica (Evan), Ashley (Liam), Hayden, Kaylee, Malcolm, and Amber.

He also leaves behind his dear nieces Pam (Tom), Roxanne (Wendell), and Cindy (Kevin) and their families, along with numerous relatives and extended family members from the Kyle family.

Gerry was born to Jacob and Emma Steinley in Herbert, SK and was raised on a farm with his sister Inez (Harry), all of whom predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his niece Cindy, brother in law Harry, and mother in law Kay.

Gerry will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to family, friends, and colleagues. He treasured social gatherings, sports, music, dancing, and camping, creating countless cherished memories. His kindness and calmness will be treasured forever.

A service of remembrance will be held on July 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Stony Plain Alliance Church, followed by conversations and refreshments.
