She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Melvin Adams; her two sons, Roy and Dennis Adams, as well as her daughter-in-law, Becky Adams.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her daughters, Cheryl Dawes (Graeme) and Karyn Murray; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ryan Murray (Tammy) and their child, Gage; Reagan Murray (Kayla) and their children, Malaya and Rowan; Robbie Adams (Allison) and their children, Khloey and Daxton; Karlyn Prince (Warren) and their children, Waylon and Presley; Caristy Pugh (Adam) and their child, Callen; and Hayden Dawes (Alice) and their child, Ada.
Gladys lived a long and fulfilling life, blessed with 98 years of unwavering faith, love and devotion. Her steadfast trust in God guided her through every season of her life and was reflected in the kindness, compassion, and generosity she shared with everyone she met.
Gladys was affectionately known to most as “Granny.” She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. Family was at the center of her life, and she treated everyone as though they were one of her own. She was deeply involved in her church and community and enjoyed many passions throughout her life, including sports, sewing, crocheting, and creating beautiful afghans for her family. She was also known as a dependable chauffeur, happily driving grandchildren and friends wherever they needed to go.
Gladys was a woman of determination and perseverance. At the age of 75, she achieved her lifelong goal of earning her Grade 12 Diploma in the spring of 2007. She also took the time to write out her life story, which will be a treasured legacy for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Though her family mourns her passing, they rejoice in a life well lived and are grateful for the faith, strength, wisdom, and love she leaves behind. Her legacy will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
