Jean Shirley Billay

Jean Billay was born on February 23, 1940, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Mike and Annie Hollick and raised on a farm near Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan. She passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the age of 86.

Jean is survived by her daughter Heather (Larry), three sons Byron (Diane), Kevin (Brenda), Curtis; six grandchildren David (Jessica), Katelyn (Donavon), Nicole, Eric, Breanne, Emma (Brice); two great-grandchildren Dawson and Dallas; and mother of three grandchildren, Ellen.

She was predeceased by the father of her children Walter (2024), her brother Richard (1995), father (1991) and mother (1955).

Jean graduated from Holy Family Nursing Hospital in Prince Albert, SK as a Registered Nurse in 1961. She loved her flower beds and garden, animals, cooking and most of all, caring for her grandchildren. Outside her home, she worked part-time nursing in various places in Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Honouring Jean’s wishes there will be no formal funeral; her family will hold a private gathering of remembrance at a later date where her remains will be placed beside those of her mother and brother in Saskatoon, SK.
