Jennie Ann Young

January 5, 1939 - March 28, 2026

Jennie Young passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026. She was predeceased by her husband George, her parents Oliver and Mary Richmond, her sister Marion (Raymond) Sansom, and brother Bill (Pat) Richmond.

She is survived by her children Desiree (Bryan) Joseph, Heather Young, and George (Indranie) Young. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Rachel (Stephan) Bergeron and Jarod (Lexi) Young, by her great grandchildren Emilie, Ophelia and Norah, her niece Kristine (Doug) Richmond, and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jennie was born in Minnehik, Alberta on January 5, 1939 and was extraordinarily energetic, friendly, caring, and inquisitive.

At the age of 21, she graduated from the University of Alberta with her RN in nursing and started her long career in public health at the Stony Plain Lac Ste. Anne Health Unit; from where she retired in August, 1993.

It has truly been an honour, privilege and pleasure to have had Jennie as our mother, friend, protector, teacher and confidante over the course of our lives.

May she rest in the peace she so assuredly deserves."
