

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his children, Graham (Lynn) and Harla (Pete); his grandchildren James (Bailey), Kathleen (Dan), Jennelle (Myles) and Mickey. He is also survived by his brother Jack (Sandra); his sister Anne, and numerous other family and friends.
Jim is predeceased by his wife, Esther, grandson Matthew and brother-in-law Norman (Norm) Lowes.
Born on November 24, 1940, in Edmonton, Alberta, Jim grew up on a farm close to Onoway, AB, eventually coming to settle in Spruce Grove, AB, where he and his wife raised their family. He was a devoted family man who valued strength, loyalty and a firm sense of community.
Jim carried the values of hard work and service throughout his life. He built a successful 45-year career in the life insurance and investments industry, earning the trust and respect of countless clients and colleagues.
A proud member of the Lions Club for over 40 years, Jim dedicated himself to service and community betterment. He was passionate about anything related to automobiles and enjoyed amateur photography. His faith was central to his life, and he was a prominent and active member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, where he served faithfully in many areas, and most recently on the church council.
Jim will be remembered for his generosity and the quiet strength he brought to every endeavor. He leaves behind a legacy of service, faith, and community spirit.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 17, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 101 McLeod Avenue, Spruce Grove, at 11 AM, with a light luncheon to follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church can be made in his name.
