John Buckingham, dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and uncle passed away at the Misericordia hospital after suffering from Parkinson's disease with Lewy body dementia for 15 years. Through a gradual but relentless loss of physical abilities, John maintained his wonderful sense of humour, cheerfulness and positive nature. His beautiful smile lit up the room, he was patient and understanding of every one.
Born in London, England, John moved to Wiltshire where he completed an apprenticeship in carpentry, joinery and cabinet making. There he met and married his wife Brenda, a match made in heaven, lasting for 63 wonderful years. Their sons Anthony and Richard completed the family.
He later opened his own business which he ran for 12 years before emigrating with his wife and sons to Canada in 1977. John moved his family to Alberta where he continued creating a successful lifestyle that included adventure, discovery, exploration, laughter and much love.
John was hugely talented with an ability to create many artistic things from ideas or concepts. Our treed acreage gave him materials and space to build lovely structures. He could often be found busy in his workshop or out doing the heavy work of new flowerbeds or manicuring the lawns.
