Suddenly and tragically on the morning of January 24, 2025, Kevin left this world.
Kevin is survived by his father Carl; his loving wife Sheila; his dear sons, Braden, and Axel; his brother-in-law’s Shayne (Jan; Erik, Lilja & Johann) and Stewart (Becky; Violet and Olivia); sister-in-law Gayle (Brad; Kyrra and Jorunn) as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his dear mother Linden, grandfather Philip, grandmother Dorthy, father-in-Law Sherman, and mother-in-Law Karen.
Kevin grew up in Gimli, Manitoba where he was raised by his loving and devoted parents Carl and Linden. He attended Gimli Composite High School where he developed many strong friendships that have continued thoughout his life. There he met his love Sheila, and they began their journey in life together for the last 34 years.
Kevin entered the work force in the retail food industry beginning with Stan’s IGA in Rivers, Manitoba as a Produce Manager and he continued to Brandon with IGA and then made a move to Kenora, Ontario where he joined the Wholesale Club. Together with Sheila he spent a few years enjoying the beautiful lakes of Kenora before returning to Manitoba to join IGA again. Kevin’s journey then continued with a transfer to Edmonton where he made a new home for his family in Onoway, Alberta. Here in Alberta is where Kevin spent the remainder of his working career with Sobeys and Safeway. He worked for the Sobeys and Safeway franchise for the last 25 years and through this great company, together with Sheila by his side, they traveled the world, made more than just working relationships but lasting friendships. Kevin was very passionate about his career, and it showed by the many relationships and support he has had with all the teams at Sobeys/Safeway in his role as District Operator.
In Kevin’s spare time he enjoyed playing hockey and fastball but due to knee surgeries he focused his love of sports to being a dedicated hockey, soccer and swimming dad cheering on his boys from the stands and supporting them in all their passions. Kevin also enjoyed the outdoors. He looked forward to hunting, fishing, and camping with his family and was always ready to hit the lake with his boat whether it be for a ride or spending time with his sons.
Together Kevin and his family have been enjoying their love of summer at their special getaway location at Pineridge Golf Course. Every opportunity that he had he would escape to have time with his family and friends and endless nights around the fire. This new home away from home is a special place that was all about family, friendships, and lasting memories.
Kevin also enjoyed traveling with his family and their winter getaways, making sure that we lived life to the fullest and making sure that his sons got to see the world. But Kevin always was looking forward to going to Florida and especially Maui, Hawaii, our happy place surrounded by family.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to a Charity of Choice.
Gone way to soon… Kevin you will be missed forever but always in our hearts. Love you always XOXO
