1947 - 2025
It is with deep sadness that the family of Lee Santon of Spruce Grove, AB. announces his passing on August 22, 2025 at the age of 78 years.
Lee will forever be loved by his partner and companion of 28 years, Scott Bradley; his brother Steve (Lynne); his niece Dana (Joey) and their children Julia & Tyler; his nephew Kris (Tiffany) and their children Phoenix & Hendrix as well as many extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Jack (John) & Joan.
Lee was drawn to computer technology and electronics at a very early age. In his youth he enjoyed building electronic Heathkits and experimenting with HAM radios. His education from the University of Waterloo led him to endless adventures, from the telecom industry, the CBC and to the Canadian National Exhibition where he mixed the audio for the grand stand. In later years he got involved in designing audio synthesizers, web and database support and ultimately found his love of computer imaging and treatment systems in cancer centres.
After working at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and the London Regional Cancer Centre, he was selected to join others in Alberta to continue with research at the Cross Cancer Institute. It was there that he formed his most cherished memories, friendships and accomplishments.
Lee will be remembered for his love of sailing in Georgian Bay, cooking, calamari and wings, ice cream and Traditional Ale. He is also fondly remembered for his unique “welcoming hug”.
His favourite time was spent traveling Belize, New Zealand and Tofino, gazing out into the open oceans, drenched in the peacefulness of nature.
As per Lee’s wishes, family and friends will be gathering for a celebration of life, date to be determined.
If friends desire, Memorial Donations may be made in Lee’s honor to the Salvation Army, Edmonton Food Bank, Canadian Red Cross or to the Fringe Theatre Adventures Society.
