It is with the heaviest of hearts that our family announces the passing of Peggy Catherine Moffatt on September 12, 2026, at the age of 64 years. Predeceased by her parents, Cathy and John, Peggy is survived and will forever be loved by her best friend and husband of 18 years, Mike; her daughters, Jessica, Bee, and Cheryl (Marc); sons, Nicholaus (Elizabeth), Scott, Steven (Gina); and her 6 beautiful grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Irma (Tom); her brother, Rudy (Sandi); as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
An avid sewing expert and skilled crafter, Peggy would spend countless hours creating many treasured keepsakes that she would bestow upon family and friends who were so appreciative of her thoughtfulness and expert talent. A handmade gift from Peggy was genuinely a gift from the heart.
She adored her time camping, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying a dip in the pool on a hot summer day.
A true animal lover, Peggy had so much affection to give to the many family pets she cared for over the years, providing them a forever home not just in her house, but in her heart. She was just as invested in the animals outdoors, waiting patiently every Spring to see the geese return to the lake behind her home.
An unexpected crude joke would elicit what can only be described as an infectious cackle that Peggy inherited from her mother. Anyone on the receiving end of a call knew her distinct “helloooo” and also understood they were in for a marathon phone conversation which would no doubt include plenty of those signature cackles. You knew Peggy was in good spirits when she would walk into a room, snapping her fingers with that cool strut and slight shimmy in her step. She could be sarcastic, she loved to tease but never with malicious intent because underneath the joking exterior was the softest, most sentimental and generous heart. She would do anything for the people she loved.
Perhaps what Peggy will be remembered for the most was her love of all things Christmas. No space was wasted, indoors or out, with displays that would put a Hallmark movie set to shame. She loved to create and immerse herself in the magic of the holidays, and her decorating made it impossible not to feel that warmth and spirit.
She will be deeply missed, and we will forever carry her memory in our hearts as she carried us in her own.
