It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Ray LeGrow of Bauline, NL on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026 at 1:30 a.m. at the Misericordia Hospital at the age of 84 years.
Ray will be lovingly remembered by Daphne, his beloved wife of almost 62 years, his daughter Christina (Shawn), son Stephen, daughter-in-law Carolynne, and seven grandchildren – Danica, Kristen, Kaitlyn, Jared, Adam, Desirae, and Colin; one remaining brother Carson, three sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ray was predeceased by his son Clifford, two brothers and two sisters, as well as by his parents -Irene (King) and Wilson LeGrow.
Ray loved his family to the fullest, had a marvellous sense of humour, and children and puppies gravitated to him – a sign of the kind heart of this man. He was a leader of men and, according to fellow workers, could be always counted on to be fair in the workplace. Ray was a multi-career individual working as a police officer, volunteer fireman, owning his own fire-protection business, and, finally, as a miner. He lived in the north, in the Rocky Mountains, and finished up his career in The Genesee Mine near Warburg, AB. His retirement in Spruce Grove was a joyful 26 years to him.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at the Misericordia Community Hospital for their care and compassion during his month-long stay.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ray's name can be made to The Light Up Your Life Society website at [email protected]
A Celebration of Life will be held in Spruce Grove, AB at a later date.
