Ryan worked at TransAlta Corporation for 29 years, beginning February 4, 1991. He spent many years at the acreage building a beautiful life with his family. Ryan was always active and spent winters coaching minor hockey with the Stony Plain Hockey Association starting in 1984, and when his own children were old enough to play, he coached them in Stony Plain and Onoway for many years. Many good friends were made during those years. Summers were spent fishing and waterskiing with the kids, then with his grandchildren. They were Papa’s greatest loves. On July 12, 2016, Cathy and Ryan achieved their dream and moved to the Wabamun Lake area. Ryan was looking forward to retirement in May 2021.
Ryan leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years Catherine Jede; his children: Jason (Lindsay Scott) Jede and their children Peyton and Olivia, Scott (Lindsay) Jede, and Garrett (Angie) Wilson and their children Gavin and Trent; his brother Erwin (Heather) Jede; nieces Melanie; great-niece Lily and his cousin Erwin (Kim) Boenke.
He was predeceased by his parents Reinhard and Theresa Jede.
A Celebration of Ryan’s Life will be held sometime in the new year due to current covid restrictions.
“That man is a success – who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who leaves the world better than he found it; who has never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty or failed to express it; who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had” – unknown.
