Rendell was one of ten children born to his parents Nellie Lush and Harold Wilton on March 14, 1952, in Nicholsville, Newfoundland. It was also in Newfoundland that Rendell and Michele met, got married, and made a life for themselves with their three children. It was in the 80s that they made their final big move across the country to settle in the Calgary area.
Rendell was predeceased by his wife Michele Wilton nee Hepditch of thirty-seven years in 2008. He leaves to mourn three children Terri (Dave) Graf of Calgary, Sheldon (Michelle) Wilton of Calgary and Corey Wilton of Claresholm. Along with five grandchildren Michael (Kaisha), Nathan, Brittany (Joel), Rebecca (T.J.) and Rocco. He is also survived by his great grandchild Rowan. Rendell is survived by his siblings Alice Lush, Larry (Gail) Wilton, Linda (William) Squires, Melvin (Elsie) Wilton, Calvin Wilton, Joyce (Martin) Parsons, Wayne Wilton, and Gerald (Linda) Wilton. Rendell is predeceased by his sisters Rowena Wilton and Barbara Young.
Rendell will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. Rendell made his life of long-haul trucking and had traveled many kilometers across Canada and the United States. Rendell was known to everyone as a big-hearted man who worked hard to ensure that the family he loved was always taken care of. Although he was a quiet man, Rendell enjoyed all the times he got to spend with family and good friends. It is through trucking that he met his loving wife of the past 13 years, Cheri Kubik of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Rendell also had a wonderful relationship and was loved dearly by Cheri’s son Ryan and Ryan’s daughter Siyah.
A special thank you to Rendell’s niece Glenda Goss of Edmonton who spent the last four months with Rendell in the hospital with him, providing company, advocating for his care, and constantly updating his family.
A Celebration of Rendell’s life will be scheduled by the family for the summer of 2023.
