Ronald Tyler SEKURA

31 August, 196216 April, 2021

Ron Tyler Sekura was born in Brooks, Alberta on August 31, 1962. He passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in Arizona on April 16, 2021.

Ron was a man of many achievements, but he treasured his family and friends in front of all. He played a special part in so many lives, and we all loved him and he loved us. He was our anchor.

He is survived by his children, Seth and Falon; mother, Helene; father, Wendal; brothers, Tim (Joanne), Travis (Shawn) and Corey (Lorena); sisters, Cherry and Tania (Dan); uncle, Marty; aunts, Mary and Lore as well as 14 nieces and nephews and 11 great-nieces and nephews. All who were the light of his life and whose lives he enriched with his wit and sincere interest in them.

Ron is predeceased by his niece, Cheyenne.

Although the passing of our beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend has left a deep rift in our hearts, he has also left us with his most valuable gift, a zest for life and a spirit of adventure.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private family service will take place at this time. A public Celebration of Ron’s life will be announced when COVID restrictions allow.

If friends desire, Memorial Donations may be made in Ron’s memory to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, 800 College Plaza, 8215 - 112 Street, Edmonton, AB T6G 2C8 or to charity of one’s choice.

No public services are scheduled at this time. Receive a notification when services are updated.

Hey Ron, I just learned tonight that you are no longer with us and it really hurts to know that you're gone.

You believed in us when no one else did. You were so good to my family you have no idea.

My wife and I are crying because we were so looking forward to seeing you and showing you our progress and to make you proud of choosing us.

We want you to know that you'll be sorely missed, but we know you’re in a better place.

Love the Ramirez Family.

My thoughts go out to the Sekura family. Ron was unlike anyone I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I had first met him at the annual Election garage car auction in Red Deer where he auctioneered at. We bonded over each of our love for classic cars. He always talked fondly about his family, loved to share about his many experiences travelling the world, and also his ongoing business ventures and ideas that he always had on the go. Ron inspired me to live life without hesitation, to take chances and always bet on winning. Everyday was a new adventure, and a gift. He had a soul that was full of character, everywhere he went, he made the people around him smile . He was one of the most authentic people I knew. I truly believe that if everyone lived more like Ron, life itself wouldn’t be taken so seriously and we wouldn’t ever take a single day for granted. I will always carry a piece of him with me, and the next time I “stop to smell the flowers” I will remember him.

Ron was one of my best friends, he was an instructor and mentor for the students at Global College of Auctioneering. He had enough passion and love for life than most people ever could imagine having. Always smiling, always seeing the better side of things, always living life. I will forever miss your friendship and our business will never be the same without your vigor. Rest In Peace my dear friend and just remember you left your mark in so many ways.
