1974 - 2024
It is with profound shock and sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Sheldon Maki at 50 years old. Scott passed away on Dec 23 at the University of Alberta Hospital.
Scott was born March 17, 1974 in Slave Lake Alberta. He was born with special needs, but in spite of that he lived his life on his own terms.
Before he was a year old the family moved to a farm near Stony Plain, Alberta. As a young lad Scott enjoyed going for adventurous hikes in the field pulling his red wagon and listening to country music on his radio.
At two and a half Scott started school in Edmonton, AB and finished when he was 20. After which he transferred to vocational services with Rehoboth Christian Ministries. A few years later Scott was moved into residential services with Rehoboth.
Scott made friends easily, he enjoyed a good joke, and a good party. He always had a sunny attitude, a smile, and was quick to lend a helping hand.
Scott is survived by his mother Linda Maki, his brother Rob Maki (Joanna Wright), his niece Ravn Wright, sister Kyla Maki (Marc Song), and his father Neil Maki (Iola Bartja). Scott will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held in May 2025.
