1992 - 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stefan Jacob Schoepp, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend. He passed away at the age of 32 on February 19th, 2025. Stefan was born on August 21, 1992, in Edmonton, Alberta. Stefan will be deeply missed by his parents James Schoepp (Anne), Rena Schoepp (Pat), his siblings Selim, Anders (Kennedy), Aline (Ben), and Elsa (Thane). His grandparents Glen and Joan Carlson. His daughter Klara Schoepp. He was welcomed into eternity by those who passed before him, grandparents Hilda and George Schoepp.
Though his time was cut far too short, Stefan always embraced life to the fullest. Living intensely, creatively, and with a heart full of love. His story lives on through those who knew him. From a young age, Stefan had a passion for moving dirt, which naturally led him to a career as a heavy-duty equipment operator. He always had an artistic side and this came alive in his work and through his love of drawing and photography, where he had a unique ability to capture moments of beauty. Stefan had a kind hearted and fun loving free spirit which brought vibrance everywhere he went. You would rarely find Stefan sitting still for too long, he was always ready to “send it” whether it be on his snowmobile, boat, or in his truck. Stefan was surrounded by a close-knit group of supportive friends who were drawn to his welcoming, lively, enthusiastic, outgoing and selfless personality. Whether it was creating memories at Big Valley Jamboree, spending time by the river, or gathering around a campfire, he cherished every moment spent alongside his friends and his faithful dog Denim. Stefan took immense pride in his collection of antique toys, which he had collected over the years. He was an active member of a collector community, sharing his passion with like-minded individuals, whom he developed great friendships with, connecting through their love for Vintage toys, especially Tonka.
Stefan always had an immense capacity to love and care for those close to his heart and while Stefan had many hobbies and passions, none compared to his love for his daughter, reflected in his last message to Klara, “You were always my whole world and I never stopped loving you for a second”.
To Stefan, the farm was always home. No matter where life took him, he always looked forward to returning, whether it was to help his dad in the fields, enjoy a peaceful sunset, or spend quality time with family. One of Stefan's last wishes was to have his ashes spread on the farm so he may grow once more at home.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your charity of choice in memory of Stefan or consider donating to the go fund me for his daughter Klara.
His Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday April 5, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church (1228 Township Rd 524, Parkland County, AB).
