William Frederick Garner

August 22, 1926 – June 10, 2024

It is with sadness that our family must announce the passing of Bill on June 10, 2024, at the age of 97, at Laurier House, Lynwood.

William Frederick Garner, was born on August 22, 1926, in Vancouver, B.C. Bill was a faithful husband and helpmate for his wife, Tillie and a dedicated father to sons Jon and Tim. He was an honest friend to many neighbors, church family, and people who knew him. He was a hard worker, holding a job at Chevron and then farming on the side. He loved farming, he loved his livestock, and he loved his gardens, priding himself in the bountiful harvests every fall, giving most away. He took great pleasure in fabricating and fixing equipment and tools. Bill enjoyed gatherings with family and visiting with his numerous friends. He spoke often of Till’s and his adventures to Las Vegas and Reno.

He is survived by his sons, Jonathon (Karen) and Timothy (Jane), along with his grandchildren Christopher, Stephen (Dana), David, Gregory, and Kevin (Shelbi), and his great grandchildren, Owen, Daniel, Alissa, Charlie, Desmond, Cash, Cole, Hunter, and Kade. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Carl Wettlaufer.

He is predeceased by his father, William J. Garner, and his mother Kathleen (Diggory) Garner. As well, he is predeceased by his sisters Doreen and Kathleen.

A Funeral Service for William will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with viewing prior from 1:30PM to 1:45PM at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 303 Church Rd, Spruce Grove, AB T7X 0G2.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Tributes may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church 303 Church Road, Spruce Grove, Alberta, T7X 0G2 or to a charity of one’s choice.
