Wyatt Sekura, age 28, passed away unexpectedly, leaving a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though his time with us was far too short, Wyatt’s impact was vast, lasting, and unforgettable.
Wyatt is survived by his partner and best friend, Tanis; his parents, Corey and Lorena Sekura, and Vicki and Danny Vincent; his brother, Justin (Morgan); and his sisters, Lindsay (Donnie), Tiffany (Eric), and Sara (Joel). He was a devoted uncle to his cherished nieces, Kallie, Adellynn, Abigail, Amelia, and Aversyn, and his nephew, Koen. He also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, grandparents, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Wyatt was predeceased by his uncle Ron and cousin Cheyenne, whom he now joins in eternal rest.
Wyatt’s life was filled with rhythm, heart, and soul. Music was not just something he loved — it was something he felt. In moments of joy and in times of quiet reflection, he found comfort and connection through melodies that spoke to his spirit. He entered rap battles and was always busting rhymes.
An entrepreneur at heart, Wyatt had a remarkable gift for making something out of nothing. He loved thrift-store shopping and somehow always turned it into the best threads, worn with confidence and pride. A farm boy through and through, he found joy in honest work and community life. He loved farming and working the cattle on the family farm. He was a ringman at auctions for the family business, Sekura Auctions, and immersed himself wholeheartedly in the world of motorsports.
Wyatt’s compassion extended far beyond his immediate circle. He generously volunteered his time, giving back to the less fortunate and to senior homes, quietly offering comfort, kindness, and a listening ear to those who needed it most. He never sought recognition — only connection.
He could never sit still and lived life with boundless energy and curiosity. Wyatt loved hiking, biking, camping, dirt biking, snow biking and sledding in Valemount + McBride and exploring the outdoors. Savary Island held a special place in his heart, a destination he returned to often. He loved deep, worldly conversations, cooking meals to share, and spending time with those he loved most.
Animals brought him great joy, especially his beloved dog, Bepsi. Above all else, family meant everything to Wyatt.
We often said Wyatt had nine lives — that his story wasn’t finished yet, that he stayed to teach us lessons. And he did. He taught us patience. He showed us how to love deeply, live fully, and be grateful for what we have.
Wyatt’s presence, kindness, laughter, and spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
All those who knew him are welcome to come to the celebration of Wyatt's life at the Mackenzie Conference Centre, 5737 45 Ave, Drayton Valley, AB on Wednesday January 7th, 2026 at 4 p.m.
Wyatt generously gave his time to homeless, senior homes, mental health and more … instead of flowers or donations the family asked that at some point give your time to help the less fortunate… however that is.
