Yvonne Rae McLellan

She leaves behind her loving family, who feel the immeasurable loss of her warmth and guiding light: her chosen parents, Dan and Vivian Fenske; her husband, Don McLellan; her daughter, Sandra McLellan (Jerid); her grandson, Caydon McLellan (Montana); her sisters, Mary, Susan (Scott), Elizabeth (Ralph), Irene, and Kaitlyn; and her many cherished nieces and nephews.

Yvonne was predeceased by her son, Don McLellan; her father, Raymond Anderson; and her mother, Mary Anderson.

After leaving her hometown of Calgary, Yvonne found the love of her life one sunny day in Seba Beach, when she saw him driving a fancy truck up and down the street. It was love at first sight, followed by a whirlwind romance and a wedding when she was just 17 years old. They celebrated 51 years of marriage together this past June.

Family was of the utmost importance to Yvonne. Her love extended to her children, grandchildren, her five sisters, her nieces and nephews and the many others she welcomed and took in as her own. To be known by Yvonne was to be loved by her. This love even extended to all creatures, big and small.

She had a gift for making people feel cared for, especially through a meal made with love or a special baking creation she had made just for you. Her kitchen was one of the ways she poured her heart into those around her.

Yvonne remained steadfast in her Christian faith and loved sharing the Word of God with anyone who took the time to listen, always doing so with kindness and compassion.

Yvonne loved the mountains and camping, and often reminisced about the days she spent riding motorcycles on long road trips. She loved sports cars, leather jackets and anything that sparkled, just like her. She was the coolest and kindest daughter, wife, mom, grandma, aunt and sister.

We have lost the light of our lives.
