
Isabella Whitehead of the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehab Center, North Creek, NY, was born March 4, 1914 in Doodletown (Rockland County), NY to the late William H. Lewis and the late May Ryerson Lewis. Isabella married Lawrence K. Whitehead on July 1, 1932 who predeceased her on November 23, 1958. She was also predeceased by her son Lawrence R. Whitehead on November 13, 2009.
Isabella is survived by her daughter/caregiver Emma and Fred Meyer, Chestertown, NY, nine Grandchildren, Edward Kalwara, Lawrence C. and M'Lanie Whitehead, Eileen and David Hall, Michael Whitehead, Alison Whitehead, Bonnie Sue Whitehead, Dean Hankinson, Scott and Jennifer Hankinson, Todd and Michelle Hankinson. Isabella is also survived by 14 Great-grandchildren, David, Zachary and Madison Hall, Kai M'Kenna and Isabella Reese Whitehead, Tameron Fanta, Peter Seyler, DJ, Karl, Anna, Victoria, Ariel, Ty and Brooke Hankinson. Many nieces and nephews survive as well as three daughter's-in-law, Janet Whitehead, Virginia Seyler and Betty Theel.
Isabella was predeceased by her two brothers and four sisters, William H. Lewis, Charles R. Lewis, Helen Odell, Madeline DeNoyelles, Mildred Ossman, Geneva Rose and two step-brothers, Jacob and Hobart Stevens.
Calling hours will be Sunday, July 10, 2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Michael Higgins Funeral Home, Liberty Drive, Stony Point, NY 10980. The funeral service will be on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 1 PM with the Reverend Warren Brandt, Pastor of the Thiells Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Brick Church Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY following the service.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehab Center, North Creek, NY 12853.
The family would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of the wonderful, caring Nurses, CAN's and all Other Staff for the great care and love they gave to our "Mother/Grandmother" during her three year stay at the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehab Center, North Creek, NY. Isabella loved each and everyone of them and thought of them all as part of her family
