Eleanor was born December 24, 1939, to Harvey and Eva Weaver of Lancaster, Pa. On March 26, 1960 she married Lester Shamber and they had six children—three daughters, Lovina Shamber, Mary Shamber, and Gayle Capps; three sons—Rodney, Jonathan and Eugene Shamber. All six children live in Hobe Sound, Fl.
Eleanor was a graduate of Manheim Central High School and attended Elizabethtown College for two years.
She was an avid lover of flowers, especially orchids. She loved to do sewing projects and worked with many children to teach them how to sew. Most of all she loved people and was a friend to everyone. For nine years she passionately worked with the Bus Ministry at Hobe Sound Bible Church where she and her husband attended.
She is survived by her husband, Lester, three sisters and a brother in Pennsylvania, her six children, Rodney Shamber, Lovina Shamber, Mary Shamber, Gayle Capps and husband, David, Jon Shamber and wife, Lorinda, Eugene Shamber and wife, Christinna; eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 20, 2020, 9:00-10:30 AM at Hobe Sound Bible Church, 11295 SE Gomez Avenue, Hobe Sound, Fl. The funeral service will immediately follow at 10:30 AM.
Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery, 1501 S Kanner Highway, Stuart, Fl.
