

She was proceeded by her parents Lydia and Cirino Torrisi; her husband of 57 years Warren Hoffman Sr.; her siblings Salvatore Torrisi and wife Lucia, Olga Kirk and husband Ross; William Torrisi and wife Penny, daughter Becky Gardner and two of her sons Adam and Nick. Surviving Becky is her husband Bill and second wife Liz, and sons Ben Gardner, Will Gardner and wife Liliane. Also surviving Becky’s is son Brandon Swim and his wife Kristin and their daughters Kiana and Greta. Additionally, surviving is sister-in-law Jo Torrisi, Jeanne's daughter Linda Hoffman, her son Courtney Knerr and wife Marilyn, their daughter Payton Knerr, son Tyler Knerr and wife Micaela and their daughter Gia Knerr. Jeanne’s son Warren Hoffman and wife Nancy complete the surviving immediate family. Throughout her life Jeanne was always part if a five generation family.
While family was always the top priority in her life, she planned a second act for the time her children flew the nest. In 1964 she enrolled in Indiana University to get her degree in teaching, which was followed by a Masters (1970) and ED.D. Doctor in Administration and Supervision (1984) degrees from Ball State University. Her professional career in education went through three school corporations in two states involving multiple grades and several administrative positions. She received several commendations and awards throughout her career including Outstanding Elementary Teacher of the Year in 1975.
Jeanne was blessed with a wonderful voice and shared it with the congregations of all the churches she attended as a soloist and member of the choir. She also participated in local town theaters sharing her acting and vocal prowess in such musicals a King & I, South Pacific, My Fair Lady, and Fiddler on the Roof. While at Indiana University she sang in their swing choir, which performed all over the state and included in a USO tour of the Maritimes and Greenland. She received several outstanding actor awards for her performances.
With her mother and oldest daughter as partners, Jeanne opened Sinfully Sweet in Mt Dora, Florida, which offered wonderful treats like chocolate covered strawberries, homemade soups, custom baked cakes, and waffle ice cream cones. Folks came from miles around to enjoy fancy treats in a homey atmosphere.
She also loved to travel taking multiple trips to Europe, an extended stay traveling the whole of India, a music trip to Ukraine, and a Fulbright sponsored trip to Indonesia.
A Celebration of Life for Jeanne will be held on May 10th starting at 2:30PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd, Gotha, FL 34734.
