Joyce Hawkins (84), beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin passed away February 18, 2021.

Joyce grew up on a family farm in St. Joseph, MI, relocating to Florida when she was a young girl. Joyce worked as a model for many years and met the love of her life, Bill Hawkins, Sr. while on a blind date while both were attending the University of Miami. They proved the naysayers wrong by celebrating 63 years of marriage while producing 3 loving children and 6 adoring grandchildren. Joyce was also a successful realtor and was instrumental in getting The Quest Center (a special needs school) built in Broward County.

Joyce is survived by her daughter Susan (Mike) and their children Jamie, Jennifer and Mikey, son Bill Hawkins, Jr. (Ashleigh) and their kids “Trey”, Brooke and Dawson and brother John Chaperon (Karen), and their children JJ and Jeff. She was predeceased by her husband and daughter Dawn.

A memorial service will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to ARC Martin County, Inc. (772) 283-2525.

I will always hold dear memories in my heart of Joyce Hawkins while spending time at Mike and Suzie Summers Jupiter Florida house gatherings. Our family was always welcomed in the most kindest of ways as she greeted us always with the best advice and warmest of smiles. That smile, love and kind spirit lives on in her daughter, son and grandchildren. She was a beautiful lady who loved her family very much. May she Rest In Peace while joining her husband, Bill in heaven as I picture them forever in an embrace.
My condolences to her family as they grief this great loss.

Joyce has been dear friend for many years. She had many admirable qualities. She was fun to be with and she had a great sense of humor. But mainly she was a kind and loving person and she will be missed. Condolences to each of her family members who are wonderful people as a result of her and Bill’s influence.
