Leilani Barbara Cocca “ little coconut” was born October 17, 2006 and sadly left us on September 19, 2019. She impacted the lives of many in such a brief period of time with an “old Soul” and a maturity way beyond her years.
Leilani was a highly competitive bundle of energy that excelled at everything she set her sights on. Affectionately referred to as an “over-achiever”, she was deservingly recognized and awarded for her excellence in school studies, leadership, Ju-jitsu, volunteerism and playing her clarinet.
Leilani possessed an unmeasurable love for animals and their care. She was extremely passionate about volunteering (every day if she could) with assisting the professional animal care givers in rehabilitating domestic animals and releasing them back into the wild. Leilani was particularly fond of opossums and squirrels and it is very possible that the next one you see may very well be one or related to one of the many that she nurtured and saved.
Leilani was a scorching, bright “red hot” comet who’s all too brief but brilliant light has burned a permanent mark on the souls of us fortunate enough to have seen her. She will be forever in our hearts and longed for until we see her again.
She is survived by her mother Denise Johnson, brother Robert (Bobby) Kai Cocca, uncle Robert (Bobby) Johnson, aunt Grace and cousin Christine Johnson; father Robert Cocca and paternal grandparents Robert and Bunny Cocca. Leilani is predeceased by her maternal grandparents Robert and Barbara Johnson.
