

Murriel Skinner Jerue died peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends on December 30, 2021 one day shy of her 93rd birthday. She was born in Shelburn , Indiana on December 31 1928, the youngest of 9 children, to David and Gertrude(Owens) Skinner.The family moved to Buchanan Michigan in the early 1940s where they opened a restaurant, the “Buchanan Grill”, serving the community during the war years.
Murriel married John Jerue in 1950 and made the move to South Fl where she remained for 70 years. The depression years equipped her with the inate ability to fix anything. She had a fantastic flair for fashion, loved to travel with her family and tendedher home and garden well into her late 80s.
The family remained close through the years and always gathered in Michigan during the beautiful summer months.
Murriel is survived by her twin sister Mildred “Lil” Pridavka, son, Jeff Jerue, daughters, Rebecca Thomason and Saundra Wike, five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Jerue, brothers, Lorne and BobSkinner, sisters, Lois Skinner, Lila Sullivan, Mary Banke, Emma Lee Huggett and Jean Schneider and grandson, Justin Wike. The Skinner story is one of survival, hard work, caring for one another and unfaltering love of family.
There will be a celebration of her life in the late spring or summer. In lieu of flowers we request prayers and contributions to your favorite charity.
