Today oct 10,2015, Rita Apter Rolter, age 88 and her daughter, Laine Rolter Unger, learned of the passing of Rita's cousin, Nathaniel Apter. Rita remembers fondly their early years in Pittsburgh. What a remarkable 96 years!

Dear Aunt Miriam, Scotty, and Liz,

Uncle Nat was Mensch personified.  A dynamic persona, but always personable and real.  He helped my Father in a time of need, and your family always has meant so much to ours.  While this is a time of mourning, it's also a celebration of a life well spent.  Much love to you all.

Dear Miriam, Liz & Alan, Scott & Ruth and Families,

We were very saddened to learn that Nat passed away.  It's very appropriate that Nat Apter was born on the same day as Abraham Lincoln as they were both men of vision, exemplary character, caring and goodness.  Nat loved and was so proud of his wife Miriam (what a very special couple ) and his wonderfully warm family. Although he is now at peace, we'd like his family to know how blessed we were to have him as a friend who has left an indelible impression on us and our hearts.    With our love and sympathy to all.

I am sorry to hear about "Uncle Nat's" passing.   My father Eddie Kline and he were good friends.  They are probably planning a golf game and lunch at the Star now. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

You cannot imagine how sad I am to learn of Nat's death.  I first met Nat somewhere around 1975 when he called on me at Kobacker Stores in Brilliant, OH.  Frankly, I didn't like this "funny, humorous" guy at first but his charm and salesmanship grew on me to the point where we became close friends.  Even after I moved on in my life and didn't require Nat's great products, we remained friends and stayed in touch. Nat was a member of my "STEELERS STUFF" group and participated in lively emailed discussions for many years.  I will miss my friend very much.  Rest in Peace, old friend.  I'll see you again someday and will feel comforted by your warm, welcoming smile.
