Mr. Robert James McCarthy

Born in Hibbing, MN, he has resided in Palm City for over 22 years.

Prior to retirement, he was the owner and administrator of Golden Crest Nursing Home in Hibbing and was a fellow and past state president of the American College of Nursing Home Administrators. Robert was also past director and past president of Minnesota Health Care Association.

He also was the former owner and operator of Lake Side Farm Potatoes in Hibbing.

He was past president of the Treasure Coast Rod & Reel Club, D/LT of District 8 US Power Squadron and past chaplain and past commander of the St. Lucie River Power Squad. Robert was a member of the Martin County Sportsman Club, Anchor Line Yacht Club, The Cross Roads Cruising Club, Treasure Coasters R. V. Club, Good Sam R. V. Club and the Holiday Ramblers R. V. Club.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and BPO Elks Lodge #1870 and former member of the Kiwanis Club. Robert was also past president of the Minnesota Federation of Fairs, past president of Minnesota Care Association, past Commander of the Blessing of the Fleet, member of the Moose Lodge and charger member of the Eagles Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor.

Robert is survived by his cousins and many friends.
