
Suzanne Jones passed away on January 31, 2016. She was the daughter of Burton and Mary (Stella) Baker, and was predeceased by her first husband, John Tanky Scanlan. She is survived by her husband Dr. Robert Jones and her son, John F. Scanlan, Jr. (Mary Margret) as well as her three stepchildren, Karen Harris (Mark), Richard Jones (Mercedes) and Douglas Jones (Pamela), her sister, Sandra Kauffman (Joseph), her two brothers-in-law, Monsignor Edward Scanlan and William Jones, and 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. A graduate of LeRoy Central School and an attendee of Genesee Community College, Suzanne lived most of her life in LeRoy and the Conesus Lake Area before moving to Florida. Her working background was in Administration and Human Resources working at several corporations in the Western New York area. Her final position before retiring was with Idex Corporation serving as their Vice President of Human Resources at their Pulsafeeder Division in the Rochester, New York location. While in the western New York area, she served on a number of civic organizations, namely, The Genesee Area Personnel Association (serving as their first woman President); served on the Genesee-Wyoming Counties Board of Cooperative Extension; and was a member of the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors. In 1990, she was elected President of the Board of Directors of the LeRoy Historical Society and was part of the planning committee for the development of the Jell-O Museum located in LeRoy, New York. There will be a memorial Mass at St. Christopher's Church in Hobe Sound, Florida on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 10:30 am and a later memorial Mass in the LeRoy/Geneseo area in New York. Memorials may be made in her name to the LeRoy Historical Society, 23 East Main Street, New York 14482 and St. Christopher's Church, US 1, Hobe Sound, Florida 33455.
