William Ervin Poe

Mr. Poe was born in Newellton, Louisiana, and had previously lived in Winnfield, Louisiana, and Houston Texas, before moving to Port St. Lucie, FL.

He was an engineer for Shell Oil Company in Houston, Texas for many years. Mr. Poe was a WWII Veteran, having served in the United States Air Force. He was also an active member of the Rotary Club of Winfield, LA and was of Methodist faith.

Mr. Poe is survived by his wife, Elaine S.Poe of Port St. Lucie, FL; son, William Finley Poe (Kaye) of Houston, TX; daughter, Susan Elizabeth Walker, of Jackson, MS; daughter, Kay A. West (Jeffrey) of Stuart, FL; daughter, Mary Lynn W. Hopps (Dr. David Hopps) of Yardley, PA; son, Douglas H. Allen (Marsha) of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, William Ryan, Samuel Ian and Cameron Dean Poe, Courtney Mayham and Mindy Elizabeth Walker, K. Mark Mallon, Bradley Patton-Allen Smith, Amanda Katherine Breese, Wells Grantham Smith, Laura Bradford Hopps, Matthew Allen, Peter Allen, Rebecca Allen Tate, and two great grandchildren, Chloe Mallon and Edie Allen. He was predeceased by his grandson, Frank Chandler Breese, IV.

A memorial service will be held at Harbor Place, Port St. Lucie, Florida, May 1 at 2:00pm.
