Alice Amanda Miller

Alice Amanda (Troyer) Miller, went home to be with Jesus and to join her husband, Elmer Miller of whom she married on October 11, 1962 on Sunday, May 5, 2019. Alice was born in Norfolk County on January 11, 1941, a daughter of Ezra and Amanda (Kramer) Troyer who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Eli Mullett, Joseph Troyer, Robert Troyer, Clara Yoder, Mary Helmuth, Martha Yoder and Edith Schwartz. She was a faithful member of the Pike Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg, where she was known to the children as the “Candy Lady” and enjoyed interacting with the young ones in that way. Surviving are her four daughters; Janice Miller of Stuarts Draft, Brenda Burkholder and husband Mervin of Amherst, Nancy Kinsinger and husband Steven of Churchville, Connie Miller of Shipshewana, IN.; brothers, John Troyer and wife Mary Jane of Gladys, VA, Ezra Troyer and wife Alma of Corinna, ME, Calvin Troyer of Stuarts Draft, Lloyd Troyer and wife Betty of State College, PA, sister, Ruth Yoder and husband Mark of Canon City, CO; grandchildren, Hudson Burkholder, Lewinna Burkholder, Dana Hege and husband Jesse, Audrey Witmer and husband Willis, Shaun Kinsinger, Joshua Miller, Justin Miller, Jordanna Miller, Jedrik Miller, Julian Miller; great granddaughter, Samara Witmer. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Pike Mennonite Church, 31 Pike Church Road, Harrisonburg with Pastors Ellis Beery, Eli Troyer and Nelson Showalter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joshua Miller, Justin Miller, Hudson Burkholder, Robert Troyer, Allen Troyer and Joe Yoder. Honorary pallbearers will be Rhoda Weaver, Rosanna Weaver and Sylvia Byler. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft.
