

Born September 17, 1953 in Augusta County, he was the son of the late Willard Dempsey and Ola Mae (Bradley) Thompson.
Mr. Thompson attended Mountain View Mennonite Church. He worked as a machine operator at NIBCO and retired after 25 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and farming, especially raising pigs. He will be remembered by those that loved him as someone that was full of life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a younger brother, Jerry Thompson.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Thompson; sons, David Lee Thompson and wife Alice of Craigsville, Jamie Thompson of Stuarts Draft and Timothy “Pooter” Thompson of Stuarts Draft; siblings, Hilda Buchanan, Garland Thompson and wife Brenda, William Thompson and wife Barbara and Nelson Thompson and wife Sharon all of Stuarts Draft; grandchildren, Troy Thompson, Remi Losh, Christian Thompson, Brendan Churchilll and Ashton Mace; nieces and nephews, Teresa Deakins, Sue Gilland, Steven Thompson, George Thompson, Wanda Aloff and Joyce Johnson.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with George Thompson and Kenny Mays officiating. Burial will follow at Stuarts Draft Mennonite Church Cemetery. The family asks that you please wear casual attire.
Active pallbearers will be Rob Oyler, Steven Thompson, Lee Thompson, Lemual Thompson, Pete Hewitt, Rick Allen, R.J. Fitzgerald and John Hailey.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
