James Curtis "Bub" Allen

James Curtis “Bub” Allen, 54, of Stuarts Draft passed away at his home on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Born April 22, 1963 in Waynesboro he was the son of Nancy L. Allen, who was also his caregiver, and the late Marvin L. Allen. He went to the Daily Living Center for 28 years where he had numerous special friends and was also a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Stuarts Draft. In addition to his mother, survivors include his brother, Richard Allen and wife, Judy; sisters, Sharon Thompson and husband, Nelson, Sarah Shuey and husband, Jeff and Roxanne Bean and husband, Greg; nephews and nieces, Steven Thompson and fiancée, Amber, Jessica Downs and husband, Anthony, Travis Callison, Ben Bean and Forrest Shuey; great nieces and nephews, Wesley, Danielle and Morgan Thompson, Aidan Conner and Cooper and Sadie Downs; special aunt and uncles, Mary Kennedy and husband, Joe, John Smith and wife, Shirley, Jimmy Smith and Richard A. Allen and wife, Mary; numerous cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Calvary United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the church with the Rev. Nancy Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Robert Nuckoles, Eric Callison, Gary Eavers, Jamie Hall, Jeffrey Hall, Robert Henderson and Chip Stratton.
