

Pauline Annie Hewitt, 94, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Saturday morning, November 2, 2013, at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Chuck Newman, 300 Lynn Lane, Waynesboro, Virginia. She was born on June 3, 1919, in Thurman, West Virginia, daughter of the late Albert William and Elizabeth Mays Kelley. Mrs. Hewitt was a member of Waynesboro Free Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a lifetime member of the Stuarts Draft Rescue Squad Ladies Auxillary. She was known for her loving care of people in the community. She is survived by her husband, Lewis P. Hewitt; three daughters, Cindy Lamberth, Susie Newman and husband, Chuck, and Julia Ann Mays; one son, Terence Stevens and wife, Lynn; one brother, Paul Wood; eight grandchilden; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of cousins. She is also survived by a special friend, Ellen. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2013, at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Waynesboro, and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Chuck Newman, 300 Lynn Lane, Waynesboro, Virginia. A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Waynesboro Free Methodist Church with Pastors Chris Pulice and Keith Hulton officiating. Burial will follow at the Stuarts Draft Mennonite Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mike Mays, Emanuel Hewitt Jr., Ted Bower, Naaman Mays Jr., Nelson Frazier, Bobby Mays, Sonny Smith, and Bob Mays. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Stuarts Draft Rescue Squad Ladies Auxillary. A special thank you to Chuck and Susie Newman, Richard and Trina Greenwood, Barbara and Destiny Hutchinson, and Hospice of the Shenandoah for their loving care.
