Obituary of Steven Glenn Allen
Steven Glenn Allen, 66, of Stuarts Draft passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. Born July 17, 1954 in Staunton, he was a son of the late Glenn Harris and Lorine Aldor (Coffey) Allen. On September 19, 2009 he married Shanna Fainter. The two shared a blessed marriage of 11 years together. Steve was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Stuarts Draft. As a church member, he loved being a part of the choir and men’s club. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Mohawk Industries where he worked as a maintenance mechanic for 36 faithful years. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends, trout fishing, and visiting White Rock in Nelson County. Those who knew Steve will remember him for being a jack of all trades who was a talented wood worker and cabinet maker. Survivors include his loving wife, Shanna Fainter Allen; two daughters, Carrie Allen of Staunton and Kaitlyn Allen of Stuarts Draft; four grandchildren, Rowan and Aiden Allen and Ryleigh and Knox Coffey; brother, Gary Allen and wife, Denice of Waynesboro; niece, Whitney Dargle and husband, Kellen of Charlotte, NC; and two great nieces, Louise and Marguerite Dargle. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2179 Stuarts Draft Hwy, Stuarts Draft, with Pastor Jenelle Watson officiating. All who plan to attend are ask to meet directly at the cemetery. There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home, however, friends may visit with his family at his home at any time. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church or the Augusta Health Foundation, C/O Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939.
