Virginia Lynn "Ginny" Barker

Virginia Lynn “Ginny” Barker, 72, of Stuarts Draft, VA passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Envoy of Staunton. Born August 31, 1946 in Blacksburg, VA she was the daughter of the late John Creed and Virginia Elizabeth (Price) Absher. Ginny was a member of Valley Baptist Church, Stuarts Draft. Survivors include her loving husband, James A. Barker of Stuarts Draft, VA; three sons, Timothy J. Barker and partner, Billy of New Orleans, LA, Alex P. Barker of Dublin, VA, and Christopher Barker and wife, Crystal of Stuarts Draft, VA; grandchildren, Jenna Barker, Wyatt Barker, and Hunter Barker; siblings, Hope Machemehl and husband, Mach of AL, J.C. Absher and wife, Kathleen of Christiansburg, VA, Charles D. Absher and wife, Diane of Richmond, VA, Carl Absher and wife, Rebecca of Blacksburg, VA, Bonnie Widner and husband, Skip of Franklin, VA, and Richard Absher and wife, Angie of Blacksburg, VA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Valley Baptist Church, 26 Sunny Slope Lane, Stuarts Draft, VA with Pastor Frank Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church prior to the service.
