Charles John Imhof

Charles J. Imhof, 76, of Framingham, died peacefully on April 30, 2021. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Conrad and Mary (Sbaratta) Imhof. Charlie was the beloved brother of Conrad C. Imhof of Framingham, Lorraine E. Dray and her husband Joseph of Framingham and Robert M. Imhof and his fiancée Nanci Milone Hill of Metheun. He was the devoted uncle of Jonathan Imhof of Ashland, Michael Dray and his wife Jessica of Framingham, Kevin Dray of Holliston, Benjamin Imhof and his wife Chrissy of Uxbridge, and Jeffrey Imhof of Ashland. Charlie was great uncle to Miles Joseph Dray of Framingham. He also leaves his dear sister-inlaw Laurel Henderson Imhof of Ashland. Charlie was predeceased by his brother Lawrence and sister-in –law Diane, both of Ashland.
Charlie grew up in Framingham, where he participated on many town and school sports teams. He attended Marian High School and St. Anselm College. He earned a fellowship to attend Duquesne University, where he received a master’s degree in history. After college, Charlie joined the VISTA program, working for 3 years with the underprivileged in Arkansas. Returning to Massachusetts, Charlie worked at the American Can Company in Needham before joining Web Industries in Holliston, where he worked for 30 years.
Charlie enjoyed many hobbies. He was a talented photographer who especially loved to capture pictures of wildlife and flowers. He was a member of the Mass Audubon Society and enjoyed walking through Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary. Charlie loved gardening and planted a large vegetable garden every year. He started annuals and perennials from seed and enjoyed sharing the bounty of his vegetable and flower gardens with family and friends. Charlie loved all sports, but especially baseball and his two favorite teams, the Red Sox and the Giants. Recently he realized his dream of visiting the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown where he saw memorabilia of his heroes. Charlie was an avid golfer for most of his life. When he was no longer able to play, he loved watching golf.
Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Mass Audubon Society, Boston Children’s Hospital, or a charity of your choice.

Very sad to the news about your brother,
Although I haven't seen Charlie in quite a while my memories are of our childhood visits.
A great guy and athlete. He will be missed.
