

BURR, Helen “Duda” (Lee) of Needham, Nov. 29, 2010. Born on Sept. 26, 1922, Duda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Exuberant and witty, Duda entertained and charmed all those she knew from her communities of Needham, Weston, Wellesley, and Marion, Massachusetts, as well as Jackson, New Hampshire. She delighted in her hobbies- piano, tennis, gardening, sailing, and needlepoint. She was fluent in French and a master of crossword puzzles. Mostly, though, Duda cherished her time with her children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband George and son George Jr. , but is survived by four children and nine grandchildren- Susan Burr Carlo of Manhattan, New York and her children Daniel and Allise Hewes; Jonathan Burr of Marion , Massachusetts; Leslie Burr Herrick of Poway, California and her husband Jim Herrick and children Hannah, Joseph, and Evan Barresi; Robert Burr of Hamilton, Massachusetts, and his wife Kerri and children Phoebe, Elliott, and James; and grandson Bryan Burr.
A memorial service will take place at The First Congregation Church in Wellesley, 207 Washington St., Wellesley Hills on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 2pm.
