Lorraine S. Knapp (83) passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2022 with her dear husband by her side, surrounded by their four daughters and many of their fifteen grandchildren. The daughter of the late Mark and Marie Skinner, Lorraine was born on December 10, 1938, and grew up in Teaneck and Paramus New Jersey with her younger brother Glenn and many friends and memories. She married Wayne Knapp in 1957 and they remained married for almost 65 years until her passing – she will be missed greatly by Wayne. They resided in Syracuse NY for three years and moved to Sudbury in 1965 where they lived for 57 years.
Lorraine loved to dance and do cartwheels which led to having her four daughters compete in high school and college gymnastics. In addition to raising four sweet daughters, she coached gymnastics for a while at Lincoln Sudbury High School. She was most proud of her work at the Goodnow Library, where she worked for 25 years as the office manager. It was a happy experience because she always loved books and libraries. Prior to that, after graduating from Ridgewood High School, she worked for Bell Telephone as a sales rep and developed a bonding friendship with her co-workers that lasted throughout the years. Lorraine enjoyed gardening, book club, The Villagers, and her volunteer work with FISH and at the Sudbury Senior Center.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Wayne Knapp, daughters, Laurie Levasseur (and Ric), Karen Felleman (and Dave), Sheri Knapp, and Lisa Genaway (and Neil).
She is remembered lovingly by her grandchildren; Jessica Felleman, Michaela Elliot (and Mark), Aria Jurovaty (and Kevin), Daniel Felleman, Jon Marc Levasseur, Matthew Felleman, Josiah Levasseur, Chloe Glover, Emma Levasseur, Perin Genaway, Spencer Glover, Will Genaway, Katya Levasseur, Robbie Genaway, and Fiona Glover, and her great-grandchildren; Easton Elliot, Winter Jurovaty, Nadia Jurovaty, and Wade Elliot.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, February 23rd, at Duckett Funeral Home of J.S. Waterman and Sons, 656 Boston Post Road, Rt. 20, Sudbury, MA. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Sudbury.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Buddy Dog Society in Sudbury MA.
