M. Joseph leaves a wife, Madelyn of Framingham, MA, son and daughter in law Keith and Michele DiCarlo of Newport Beach, CA, son Paul DiCarlo of Framingham, MA and daughter and son in law, Lisa and Mark Legere of Belmont, MA. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Sam and Joey DiCarlo and Mattea and Roman Legere.
Joe was an executive in the motion picture industry spanning decades. His last position of thirty plus years was with General Cinema Corporation.
Those who knew my dad never had anything but wonderful things to say about him. Those who really knew my dad also knew that he had his short comings but that never deterred them from knowing that deep down he was a loving, caring and wonderful person.
Dad taught all the kids in the neighborhood how to play baseball in our backyard. He walked 4 miles a day until he couldn't walk anymore. He got to know everyone from our neighbors, to the crossing guards at Potter Rd. School to the local store owners at the Pine Field shopping center. He knew everyone at Shoppers World and they knew him as the movie man. He generously allowed countless framingham kids to go to the movies for free…and of course there was always plenty of popcorn straight from the popcorn room to go with it. He employed many high school kids at the cinema who remember him fondly. He knew how to pick a gem when he saw one and gave people the opportunity to thrive. One of those gems still works there. He loved his family more than words can say and his grandchildren brought him endless laughter.
We are extremely fortunate to have had so many years with our dad and we have many wonderful memories. Please feel free to share some of your memories with us.
