

Raymond M. Middleton of Sudbury died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston following a brief illness. He was 80 and the husband for 53 years of Kathleen D. (Foran) Middleton, former Town Clerk of Sudbury. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, March 2, 1935, the son of the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Corr) Middleton. A member of St. Anselm Parish, he was a resident of Sudbury since 1963. He enjoyed reading and formerly was active in youth sports with his children including coaching with Sudbury Little League. Mr. Middleton was educated at Long Island University,University of Pennsylvania and Boston College. He served with the United States Army in the Viet Nam era and later was employed as a metallurgist as a civilian with the Department of the Army at the Watertown Arsenal until retiring 20 years ago. In addition to his wife, Kathleen, he is survived by his son Raymond M. Middleton, Jr. of Newton; his daughter Michelle Middleton of Caribou, Maine and his son Brian T. Middleton of Sudbury. He was the grandfather of Trevor and Lily Middleton and is also survived by his siblings; Lawrence Middleton and his wife, Donna, of Tennessee; Marilyn Bromwell and her husband,Kent, of Maryland; and Richard Middleton and his partner, Helen McMahon, of New York. He was also the brother of the late Alfred Middleton. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 27, from the Duckett-J. S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road, Rt. 20, Sudbury at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass at St. Anselm Church, 100 Landham Rd., Sudbury at 10:00 o’clock. Visitation at the funeral home will be Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Interment will be in Mt. Wadsworth Cemetery, Sudbury.
