
Samuel Lincoln Crocker, 64, formerly of Weston MA and Avon, CT, died peacefully from complications due to multiple sclerosis on July 3, 2012 at the McLean Health Center in Simsbury, CT where he had been residing since 2005.
Samuel was born on July 3, 1948 in Boston, MA, son of Mary Van Ness and Frederic Payne Crocker. His family resided in Brookline, MA where Samuel attended the Park School and later in Weston, MA where he graduated from the Weston Public Schools in 1966. As a junior, he spent the year in the town of Rombas, France through the towns’ school exchange program
Samuel and his two siblings Cornelia and Ellen spent summers with their paternal grandparents in Sharon, VT, and with their parents and maternal grandparents on the island of North Haven, ME.
Samuel attended Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the Thayer School of Engineering in 1970. He was a member of Tri-Kap Fraternity.
Samuel began his career as a design engineer directly after graduation and worked until his early retirement after twenty-three years of service in 1995 at Stanley Magic-Door, Inc. in Farmington, CT. At Stanley he was awarded numerous prizes of excellence and several patents for his automatic door designs.
Samuel is survived by his former wife, Karen Moulton of Avon, CT and his two sisters, Cornelia Crocker of Pittsford, VT and Ellen Crocker of Watertown, MA. A memorial service will be held at the McLean Health Center, Simsbury, CT on July 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carling Chapel. A private funeral service will be held at Linwood Cemetery in Weston in August.
