
Thomas Joseph Hannon, formerly of Sudbury and Marlboro, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in Atlanta, Georgia following a period if declining health. He was 83 and the beloved husband of Olga Marie (Conti) Hannon. Born in Malden, Massachusetts April 4, 1928 he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Helen (Twomey) Hannon. He was raised and educated in Malden; was a graduate of Malden Catholic High School and Boston College, Class of 1952; and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army at the close of WW II. Mr. Hannon was a family man who was devoted to his wife and children. He moved to Sudbury in 1976 and was active in Our Lady of Fatima Parish and the Father Joseph Hurly Council #5188, was a Past Grand Knight and rose to the level of 4th Degree Knight. He retired from the Hartford Insurance Company where he was employed as a Claims Manager. Prior to moving to Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. Hannon sold their home in Sudbury and moved for a time to Marlboro. In addition to his wife, Olga, he is survived by his son, Thomas J. Hannon, Jr. of Whitinsville; his daughter, Julie Harvey and her husband, Dr. Philip Harvey, of Atlanta and his daughter, Valerie Keffer and her husband, Dr. J. Reilly Keffer of Charleston, SC. He also leaves his brother and sister in law, Paul and Evelyn Hannon of Franklin; his sister, Virginia Ruane, of Malden; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Noonan. Funeral services will be held from the Duckett-J.S.Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Rd., Rt. 20, Sudbury, Tues., July 12, at 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 160 Concord Rd., Sudbury at 11:00 o’clock. Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Interment with military honors will be in Wadsworth Cemetery, Sudbury.
