Barbara Irene Hansen (nee D’Alisera) age 62 of Suffern, NY passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. Barbara was born on December 20, 1948 in the Bronx, NY to Silvio and Irene D’Alisera and attended Mount St. Ursula Academy. She received both her baccalaureate and master’s degrees in education from the State University of New York at New Paltz.
Her 39 year career was spent teaching mathematics and computer science in the greater Hudson Valley. She co-authored “Getting Down to Basic,” one of the first educational computer books. Recently retired from the Goshen Central School District, she was enjoying new pursuits of travel, exercise, sudoku and time with friends and family. She is survived by her loving husband Mark , sister Linda and children Eric and Lara. Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, NJ at 10:00am on Tuesday, November 22 followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet, NY.
