Carmen was born on July 2,1931 in Puerto Rico to the late Segundo Flores and Juanita Ramirez. Before her retirement, she was a teacher and a published poet. A passionate writer, her poems touched hearts all around the world. Carmen was a poet for life and a proud member of the poet’s club “Periodismo Literario” in her hometown of Cabo Rojo. She received many wonderful tributes and honors throughout her life as well as postmortem homages from her community of poets in different countries. Her words reflected her vast emotional depth as well as her unwavering pride in who she was and where she came from. Such a fiercely authentic soul will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her daughters Irma and Iris Torres, grandsons Juan Borrero, Alexander Linares, granddaughter Imaris Borrero and 6 beautiful great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son Carlos Torres.
