

Diane (Dee) Odette Hostomsky Chrastil passed away March 13, 2021. Diane was born on March 6th to Odette and Donald Hostomsky. She was raised in Edgewater Park, Bronx, NY. Diane graduated from Lehman High School and the Mandl School, College of Allied Health. She moved to Yonkers, then Pomona NY and raised her family.
Dee was very active in her children’s schools and held many offices in the East Ramapo School District PTA, including president. She was a religious education instructor at St. Boniface Parish; often carpooling and educating the neighborhood kids. As her own children got older, Diane took a position in the East Ramapo School District as a classroom aide. She was there for over fifteen years when an opportunity arose for her to work with Rockland BOCES. There, Diane became a NYS Certified Teaching Assistant and earned tenure this past year. She was a proud union member of the Rockland BOCES Staff Association. Her passion for the students was evident in everything she did. Their success was paramount to Diane. Along her path, Diane joined the Ladies Auxiliary With the Hillcrest Fire Department where she was very active in fundraising and events.
Diane is survived by her husband Warren; Her three sons, Warren, Michael and Austin; Her siblings, Steven (Scott), Danny, Arlene and Dondi, along with their spouses and children. She is also survived by her favorite Aunt Anne Marie and Uncle Paddy Her brother in law Charlie and numerous nephews, neices and cousins also survive her. Her furry family will miss her greatly, Pup Pup, Jeter and Dina.
Diane was predeceased by her loving parents, her mother-in-law Sabina, father-in-law Warren, brother-in-law Mark and her best friend Robyn Timmoney Santiago, with whom she is now reunited with in heaven.
One of the things Diane treasured most was her friends. She was known for her big smile, her love of the color pink, her never ending conversations, her dancing at the Labor Day festivities, her desire for pina coladas and adult beverages and her passion to help others.
Please join us on Thursday, March 18th between 4:00-7:00 at Wannamaker and Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59 , Suffern, NY for visitation. Prayer service will begin at 7:30pm. Covid Regulations apply. Masks must be worn and social distancing adhered to.
