Kelly, Eleanor (nee Ellen Norah Mc Ternan) passed away on January 12, 2011. She was born in County Leitrim, Ireland to Elizabeth (Mc Hugh) and Thomas Mc Ternan. She immigrated to the Bronx in 1930. She was a Housekeeper in the Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan for many years, retiring in 1989.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters Mary Kelly Halstead and Nancy Kelly Singer, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Her brother Francis Joseph Mc Ternan also survives her.
Eleanor is predeceased by her husband Thomas Kelly and an infant son Thomas Patrick Kelly, three sisters Mary, Elizabeth and Florence, three brothers Patrick and (Thomas and Hugh Kevin; who died in childhood).
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Suffern, NY with the interment to follow at Old St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
