Lillian was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her sister Roseann, sons Joseph and Michael, daughters-in-law Nadine and Dorothy, grandchildren Andrew, Lisa, Emily, Julia, and Evan, and great-grandson Jacob. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley.
Lillian was known for her kindness, generosity, and a caring nature. She was dearly loved by her family and all those who got to know her.
Lillian's career, as a dedicated educator, included teaching at P.S. 39 Manhattan from 1956 to 1964. She also served as an E.S.L. instructor at Rockland Community College from 1989 to 2012. In addition to enhancing the lives of the many school-aged children, and adult immigrants from around the world, she also inspired two of her grandchildren to become public school teachers.
In her leisure time, Lillian enjoyed reading, theater, chatting with friends, and keeping close to her family. She showed intense support for her granddaughters’ artistic endeavors and was a fixture in the audience at the many recitals, concerts, and musicals in which they performed.
A funeral service in memory of Lillian will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Suffern, NY, on April 26 at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial at Brick Church Cemetery in New Hempstead, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to ECHO in Janesville (Everyone Cooperating to Help Others (https://echojanesville.org)) or TOUCH NY (Together Our Unity Can Heal (https://touchny.org)).
Rest in peace, Lillian.
