With heavy hearts we share that Loretta Battochi died peacefully in her home surrounded by her beloved family and best friend, after an extended and fearless battle, of strength and grace.
God kept her with us beyond what the doctors expected and through her long battle with cancer, her faith remained incredibly strong. She will always be a true inspiration to her family and the many lives she touched.
Loretta was born the fourth child of Helen Agatha “Midge” Strickland Battochi and Bruno P. Battochi of Rockland County. Loretta’s siblings are Gregory P. Battochi, James A. Battochi (Laura), and deceased Marguerite (Battochi) Cheeseman. Her dearest friend and bonus sister Annatte Benzvy who has walked with her throughout this battle and remained by her side.
Loretta was also survived by her nieces and nephews Jenna, Donielle (Justin) , Jessie ( Julianna) Christine and DJ. and her great nieces’, Isabella, Evangeleen,Giavanna, Theodora and Magdalena as well as cousins Brian Strickland and Cathy Strickland, their children Krissy (Shawn), and Katie Strickland.
Loretta’s greatest joy in life were her two boys, Alex and Mick Battochi also of Rockland County. These extraordinary young men cared for their mother around the clock at home, during her last days.
Loretta was a nature lover and especially loved being a part of the Eagle Watching Facebook Group.
Loretta was a graduate of Ramapo Senior High School Class of 1983.
A visitation will be held at Grace Point Church at 384 New Hempstead Rd, New City, NY 1095 on Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 5-6PM, with a funeral service following at 6PM.
